Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong: Bitcoin has found a bottom at $60,000 and is ready for a reversal
The Bitcoin market is back in the spotlight following a statement from one of the industry's most influential players. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is confident that the current correction is nothing more than another turn in the long-term cycle, and that the asset has already reached a local bottom around $60,000.
Armstrong directly stated his "long" position on Bitcoin, calling it the "new digital gold." In his view, the current turbulence is a classic scenario familiar from previous cycles. Investors tend to extremes, but short-term fluctuations do not negate the fundamental upward trend.
The Four-Year Cycle and the Turning Point
In his post, the Coinbase CEO published a chart titled "Bitcoin Four-Year Cycles," which clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline since 2011. Interestingly, a question mark is placed in mid-2026 on the chart, indicating that, according to Armstrong, the market is currently at a pivotal point.
I am inclined to agree with this analysis. Historically, Bitcoin has never "died" at levels above $60,000 after a halving. The current drawdown looks like a healthy correction within a bull market, rather than the start of a new bear cycle. Institutional interest and inflows into spot ETFs only reinforce this logic.
However, not everyone shares this optimism. Analyst Benjamin Cowen, for example, suggests that the bottom may not be reached until the fourth quarter of 2026. Other experts note that institutional capital has accelerated the usual phases of the cycles, which could disrupt traditional forecasts.
Bitcoin's Fundamental Role
Armstrong emphasized that, despite the pressure on BTC itself, the stablecoin and derivatives markets have grown significantly. The industry, he says, has already outgrown the framework of a single asset, but many participants do not yet see this.
He also reaffirmed his long-standing forecast: by 2030, 10% of the global economy will operate on cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars. "I remain optimistic as always," the businessman concluded.
My comment: Armstrong's statement is not just emotional support, but a clear signal to the market. The $60,000 level is historically a accumulation zone for large players. If the macroeconomic situation in the second half of 2026 does not bring surprises, we could indeed see a reversal and the start of a new upward impulse. Keep an eye on trading volumes and ETF dynamics—they will confirm or refute this scenario.
