Worldcoin (WLD) surges 21%: institutional giant bets on the token

On June 15, the Worldcoin (WLD) token showed a confident 21% increase, reaching around $0.61. Over the past month, the asset has gained more than 154% in price, attracting attention from both retail and large players. The key catalyst for this rally was the disclosure of information about the position of Eightco Holdings (ORBS), which officially cemented its status as the largest public holder of WLD.

Eightco Holdings holds 283.4 million WLD tokens on its balance sheet, representing approximately 8.4% of the total circulating supply. The company's total portfolio, according to the latest data, is valued at $406 million. In addition to its substantial Worldcoin stake, its assets include over 16,000 ETH and a $90 million share related to OpenAI projects.

This is the largest publicly disclosed institutional position in WLD. No other public company has confirmed ownership of such a volume of tokens. This concentration of assets in the hands of a single player creates a strong foundation for further growth, but also forms certain risks for the market.

Why is Eightco betting on Worldcoin?

Eightco Holdings' strategy is based on a long-term belief in digital identity technology. The company's management argues that a significant portion of modern internet traffic and online commerce is generated not by humans, but by automated systems. In this paradigm, Worldcoin with its Proof of Human concept acts as a critically important verification layer, solving the problem of distinguishing humans from bots.

Currently, the Worldcoin ecosystem already has over 16 million verified users. Discussions around a possible OpenAI IPO are also fueling interest in the token, linking it to broader trends in artificial intelligence and verification.

Technical analysis of WLD: Bullish momentum or bear trap?

On the daily chart, WLD managed to break through the key Fibonacci retracement level of 0.786 around $0.57. The next target is the local high in the $0.66 zone. Consolidation above this level will open the way for further upward movement.

However, the RSI indicator on the daily timeframe is forming lower highs against a rising price, which is a classic signal of bearish divergence. This is a warning of a possible strong correction. The nearest support is located at $0.45, and a more reliable one at $0.33.

On the hourly chart, the situation looks more confident. Since the end of May, WLD has been trading within an ascending parallel channel. Volumes increased on the breakout but remain below the highs of early June. This suggests that greater market activity is needed to continue the rally.

My expert opinion: Eightco's purchase is a powerful fundamental signal that could push other institutions to enter a position. However, the technical picture warns of a risk of overheating. As long as the price stays above $0.45, chances for continued growth remain. A drop below $0.33 would signal a pause in the rally. Keep an eye on volumes—they are currently the main indicator of trend strength.
