Investors bought nearly 260,000 BTC during the dip: accumulation indicator hits a high
After Bitcoin (BTC) corrected below the $60,000 mark in early June, the market recorded a powerful surge in buying activity. According to on-chain metrics, investors purchased nearly 260,000 BTC on a net basis over ten days. This event coincided with Glassnode's Accumulation Trend Score (ATS) indicator reaching its maximum value of 1.0, indicating synchronized accumulation of the asset by all holder groups.
Scale of Purchases: From $59,000 to $67,000
Since June 5, the net inflow of funds into Bitcoin has amounted to 259,298 BTC. Analysis of the UTXO Realized Price Distribution shows that the main purchase volumes occurred in the range from $59,000 to $67,000. Such a concentration of transactions within a narrow price corridor suggests that market participants perceive current levels as an attractive entry point, despite recent volatility.
All Holder Groups Became Buyers
The breadth of demand deserves special attention. Unlike previous phases, where accumulation was characteristic only of large players ("whales"), the current surge has encompassed all categories of investors: from small retail holders (with a balance of less than 1 BTC) to large wallets (up to 1000 BTC). This is a stark contrast to the situation in March-May, when at a price of around $70,000, most groups acted as net sellers. Now, we are observing consolidated buying interest at all levels of the market.
The Strongest Accumulation Signal of the Entire Downturn
The fact that the aggregate accumulation trend has remained at peak levels for more than two weeks indicates aggressive and sustained demand. In my assessment, this is the strongest accumulation over the entire period of the current correction. The return of broad demand is a positive signal for price recovery, but the key question remains the buyers' ability to hold these levels in the event of a retest of the $60,000 zone.
Expert Comment: Such synchronized buying during a downturn is a classic sign that the market considers current prices "oversold." However, it is important to remember that the accumulation indicator measures volume, not direction. If Bitcoin fails to consolidate above $67,000, there is a high probability of profit-taking by these same holders. Monitor trading volume and ATS dynamics in the coming days—this will provide a clearer picture of the trend's sustainability.
