XRP: Is a $1,000 Forecast Realistic? Analysis from Cryptalist

On Monday, the XRP exchange rate showed confident growth of 9.3%, reaching a local high of $1.29. This momentum was supported by several fundamental factors: an active phase of coin accumulation by large holders and a general revival in the altcoin market. The focus once again turned to a long-term and ambitious forecast suggesting the asset could rise to $1,000.

What is behind the current rally?

The key catalyst for the shift in sentiment was a noticeable easing of geopolitical tensions, which prompted investors to return to risky assets. Against this backdrop, Bitcoin rose to $65,300, gold gained about 2%, while oil, on the contrary, lost more than 3%. A wave of optimism also swept the altcoin market: XRP firmly established itself above the $1.22 mark, showing a daily gain of 3.25%.

Analytical data from the Santiment platform indicates that before this surge, retail investor sentiment had fallen to lows not seen since October 2025. Historically, moments of total pessimism have often preceded powerful price impulses for XRP. Large holders ("whales") continue to play a key role: their wallets with balances exceeding 1 million XRP now hold 74.1% of the total market supply. Over the past six months, this group has increased its holdings by approximately 1.53 billion tokens, demonstrating unwavering confidence in the asset's long-term prospects.

Forecast of $1,000: Feasibility Analysis

Against this backdrop, the forecast from former Goldman Sachs analyst and co-founder of the educational app EasyA, Dom Kwok, is once again being actively discussed. He sets a target of $1,000 by 2030. His thesis is based on the idea that the development of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem and the emergence of useful applications on it will create direct value for the XRP token itself, unlike many other blockchains where value accumulates at the level of third-party protocols.

Kwok draws a parallel with the dawn of the internet era: mass adoption became possible only after the emergence of simple and useful services. He also notes that currently only about 7% of the world's population owns cryptocurrencies. In his opinion, new users will avoid buying Bitcoin or Ethereum due to their high price per coin, preferring the more affordable XRP.

From a purely mathematical standpoint, growth from the current $1.22 to $1,000 would require an increase in XRP's market capitalization to over $60 trillion. This implies an influx of colossal trillions of dollars into the asset. Such a scenario is only possible under conditions of unprecedented institutional adoption of XRP in international financial and commercial settlements, as well as total scaling of XRP Ledger usage.

My analysis: The $1,000 forecast is, without a doubt, an extremely optimistic and "blue sky" scenario that is unlikely to materialize within the specified timeframe without radical changes in the global financial system. However, the current actions of whales and the focus on developing real use-cases for the XRP Ledger suggest that the asset has potential for significant growth. In the short term, the key level to hold is the $1.30 zone. A breakout above it would open the path to higher targets, but reaching five-digit figures will require years and fundamental shifts at the macro level.
