XRP to $1000: Analysis of the Grand Prediction from a Former Goldman Sachs Analyst
On Monday, the XRP exchange rate showed a confident increase of 9.3%, reaching a local high of $1.29. This momentum was driven by several factors at once: an active phase of coin accumulation by large holders and a noticeable decrease in geopolitical tensions, which spurred interest in risk assets overall. Against the backdrop of a general revival in the altcoin market, XRP looks particularly confident, having settled around $1.22 with a daily gain of 3.25%.
Whales Continue to Accumulate
Blockchain data confirms that large players, or "whales," continue to actively increase their positions. Wallets with a balance of over 1 million XRP now hold 74.1% of the total market supply. Over the past six months, these holders have increased their holdings by approximately 1.53 billion tokens. Such concentration of assets in the hands of large investors is a powerful signal of long-term confidence in the asset, despite recent price corrections. Historically, it has been during moments of widespread pessimism and loss of interest from retail investors that XRP has made its most impressive surges.
Forecast of $1000: Reality or Fantasy?
Against this backdrop, an old but still discussed forecast has resurfaced. Dom Kwok, co-founder of the educational app EasyA and a former Goldman Sachs analyst, outlined a long-term target for XRP of $1000 by 2030. His bold forecast is based on the belief that the crypto industry is only at the initial stage of mass adoption. He draws a parallel with the dawn of the internet era, when the true breakthrough occurred only with the emergence of simple and useful services.
Kwok argues that XRP, unlike Bitcoin, has a clear and in-demand utility function. The development of applications based on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) creates value directly for the token itself. Moreover, he believes that for new users, who make up only 7% of the world's population, the high price of Bitcoin and Ethereum will become a barrier. Their choice, in his opinion, will fall on the more accessible and functional XRP.
Analytical Perspective
However, let's look at the numbers. To reach the $1000 mark at the current price of around $1.22, XRP would need to grow by approximately 81,867%. This would require an influx of trillions of dollars into the asset, raising its market capitalization above $60 trillion. Such a scenario is only possible with an unprecedented level of global adoption of XRP in international financial and commercial settlements. Although the fundamental prerequisites for growth, such as accumulation by whales and ecosystem development, are indeed strong, the $1000 forecast looks more like an inspiring narrative than a realistic target for the next four years. In my opinion, investors should focus on more moderate but achievable goals based on current market dynamics and the pace of technology adoption.
