Anthropic overtakes OpenAI: Ramp's corporate clients vote for Claude

The market for enterprise AI solutions is undergoing a tectonic shift. According to data from the fintech platform Ramp, which analyzes spending by over 70,000 companies, Anthropic's share of paid corporate subscriptions reached 41% in May 2026, gaining 2.5 percentage points. For comparison, OpenAI's share has remained virtually stagnant at 39.5%.

This surge is particularly notable against the backdrop of significant pressure from the Donald Trump administration. The White House demanded that Anthropic restrict foreign users' access to the Mythos 5 and Fable 5 models, effectively forcing the startup to withdraw its latest developments from the market. Seemingly, such a blow should have undermined customer trust, but Ramp's data shows the opposite trend.

The key driver of growth remains the Claude Opus family of models. Business users, it appears, value the stability, security, and depth of analysis that this product offers. Amid geopolitical turbulence, corporate clients are betting on proven solutions rather than flashy new releases.

My professional analysis: the situation clearly demonstrates that in the corporate segment, access to the latest models is not as crucial as reliability and predictability. Despite administrative restrictions, Anthropic has managed to convert a crisis into an opportunity, strengthening the loyalty of its existing base. If this trend continues, we may witness a final market reshuffle: OpenAI, having lost its growth momentum, risks ceding leadership in the race for corporate budgets.
