Ethereum Foundation loses key executive: Xiao-Wei Wang steps down
The Ethereum Foundation continues to undergo a period of structural changes. Co-Executive Director of the organization, Xiao-Wei Wang, has officially announced her resignation from the position and her departure from the foundation's board. This decision was made after the completion of a sabbatical and, according to her, is driven by a reassessment of personal priorities.
Wang's departure is not an isolated case. In February of this year, Tomasz Stańczak also stepped down from a similar role, forcing the foundation's leadership to appoint Bastian Aue as interim co-executive director. This series of personnel changes points to deep-seated processes within one of the key structures of the Ethereum ecosystem.
In my view, these changes may indicate a search for a new operational model for the Ethereum Foundation. The departure of experienced managers, especially within such a short period of time, calls into question the current strategy for distributing authority and long-term planning. However, a change in leadership is not always a crisis; sometimes it is an opportunity to attract fresh ideas and a more flexible approach to managing the largest blockchain project.
