Ethereum Foundation loses another top manager: co-executive director leaves post
The Ethereum Foundation continues to undergo significant personnel changes. Co-Executive Director of the organization, Xiao-Wei Wang, has officially announced her resignation from the position and her departure from the foundation's board. This decision was made after the completion of her sabbatical. In her statement, Wang emphasized that a reassessment of personal priorities was a key factor prompting her to leave the post.
Wang's departure is not an isolated case but part of a broader reorganization within the Ethereum Foundation's leadership. In February of this year, Tomasz Stańczak, who also served as co-executive director, left a similar role. Bastian Aue was appointed as the temporary successor to this position at that time. Thus, within a short period, the foundation has lost two key figures responsible for strategic management.
From my perspective, such reshuffling in the upper echelons of the Ethereum Foundation may signal deep-seated processes of rethinking the foundation's mission and governance structure. For the community, this is a reason to closely monitor the organization's next steps, especially in the context of upcoming network upgrades and its long-term strategy. Leadership stability is a critical factor for trust in a project of Ethereum's scale.
