Ethereum Foundation loses another top manager: co-executive director leaves post

Ethereum ETH Эфир 2025

Co-Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, Xiao-Wei Wang, has officially announced the end of her work with the organization. After an extended sabbatical, she decided to leave not only her position but also the foundation's board. In her statement, Wang emphasized that the main reason was a reassessment of personal priorities and a desire to focus on new life goals.

A Wave of Personnel Changes

This departure is not an isolated incident but part of a systemic reorganization within the Ethereum Foundation. Back in February of this year, Tomasz Stańczak also stepped down from a similar co-executive director role. In response to these changes, management temporarily appointed Bastian Aue to his position, who will now bear additional workload amid instability in top management.

What Does This Mean for the Ethereum Ecosystem?

Such personnel shifts in a key organization responsible for the development of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization inevitably raise questions about strategic stability. The departure of experienced managers like Wang and Stańczak may signal internal processes of rethinking the foundation's mission or a search for a new governance model. However, it is worth noting that Ethereum remains one of the most decentralized and resilient platforms, where decisions rarely depend on a single individual.

My comment: The departure of Xiao-Wei Wang is not a catastrophe, but it is an important signal for the community. The Ethereum Foundation appears to be entering a phase of active restructuring. In the coming months, we may see either a strengthening of the role of interim leaders or the arrival of new faces with a more aggressive vision for the network's development. The market should closely monitor further appointments—they will determine the vector of Ethereum's development in the medium term.
