Self-doxxing: Scammer asked ZachXBT for help and revealed his $1 million money laundering scheme

In the world of cryptocurrency security, an incident worthy of its own script has occurred. One user, known by the pseudonym AmanKesar11, personally reached out to the renowned on-chain detective ZachXBT to complain about the "unfair" freezing of 5.73 BTC (approximately $475,000) on the Changelly platform. As the investigation revealed, this "complaint" turned out to be a fatal mistake for the perpetrator.

A detective who doesn't take things at face value

Upon receiving the message, ZachXBT, as a professional should, did not waste time on empty promises but immediately launched a chain of checks using his own blockchain analysis tools. The result was predictable for anyone familiar with criminal schemes: the funds that AmanKesar11 was so eagerly trying to "recover" had a direct origin from a series of thefts carried out through social engineering. The victims were U.S. citizens, including retirees, and the funds were funneled through American exchanges and Bitcoin ATMs.

According to ZachXBT's estimates, the entire chain of crimes tied to this money brought the scammers over $1 million starting in 2025. The 5.73 BTC themselves were frozen on Changelly back in March 2025, which forced the individual to seek help from the very person who would expose him.

"Evidence" that destroyed the alibi

During the correspondence, AmanKesar11 provided ZachXBT with screenshots that, in his plan, were supposed to confirm the legal origin of the funds. However, for the experienced analyst, this "evidence" became a goldmine. The screenshots of bank statements turned out to be issued under someone else's name and at a different address. This made it possible to reconstruct not only the identity of the complainant himself but also the structure of the entire group.

As it turned out, AmanKesar11 is not the organizer but merely a middleman (drop) through whom funds were laundered for a boss hiding under the pseudonym "Mr Parveen". The individual himself, apparently, even filed a complaint with the Indian police over the freeze, trying to legitimize his actions through official channels.

Analyst's conclusions

This case is a brilliant illustration of how arrogance and a lack of basic knowledge about how blockchain works lead to the collapse of even the most well-thought-out schemes. The scammer, confident in his impunity, provided all the necessary evidence himself. For the market, this is another reminder: blockchain transparency is not a myth but a tool of justice. And turning to ZachXBT for help in recovering stolen funds is a fundamentally flawed idea if you yourself are the thief.
