The scammer gave himself away completely by complaining to ZachXBT about the freezing of bitcoins.

A story worthy of a satirist's pen unfolded in the world of crypto investigations. A subscriber of the renowned detective ZachXBT, hiding under the nickname AmanKesar11, contacted him with a complaint about the "unfair" freezing of 5.73 BTC (approximately $475,000) on the Changelly platform. Instead of sympathy, he received a complete exposure.

ZachXBT, using his transaction tracking tools, quickly determined that these funds were of criminal origin. The chain of traces led to a series of thefts carried out using social engineering methods. The victims were U.S. citizens, including retirees, and the funds were stolen through American exchanges and Bitcoin ATMs.

How the Scammer Exposed Himself

During the correspondence, it turned out that the total damage from this group's activities, starting from 2025, exceeds $1 million. The 5.73 BTC themselves were frozen on Changelly back in March 2025. This is precisely what prompted the scammer to seek help from someone who specializes in such cases.

The suspect's explanations regarding the origin of the funds constantly changed: from a "loan" and "money from the boss" to absurd claims about the boss's investments in Bitcoin "in 2014 and 2015" through an acquaintance in the U.S. In December 2025, he even went so far as to file a complaint with the Indian police over the freeze, trying to give his actions an appearance of legality.

Where the Traces Lead

The screenshots of the correspondence sent by AmanKesar11 became a veritable "gold mine" for ZachXBT. Analysis of these documents allowed him to reconstruct the structure of the entire criminal group. The detective concluded that the suspect himself is merely a pawn, an intermediary through whom funds are laundered for a boss hiding under the pseudonym "Mr Parveen." The bank statements he provided as "evidence" were issued in someone else's name and a different address, which finally confirmed his involvement.

This case is a stark reminder that even the most sophisticated schemes collapse when their perpetrators let their guard down. ZachXBT has once again demonstrated that anonymity in the blockchain is an illusion. My professional assessment: this situation underscores the critical importance of using reliable AML (Anti-Money Laundering) tools for all crypto platforms. Inaction in this regard is a direct threat to the entire ecosystem.
