Strategy expands Bitcoin reserves: new purchase of 520 BTC for $34.9 million

Strategy has once again confirmed its status as one of the largest institutional holders of bitcoin, making another purchase of the first cryptocurrency. Between June 15 and June 21, the corporate treasury acquired 520 BTC for a total of $34.9 million. The average purchase price, including all fees and related expenses, was $67,068 per coin.
This acquisition is part of the company's consistent strategy of accumulating the digital asset. As of June 21, Strategy's total portfolio reached an impressive 847,363 BTC, with a market value estimated at $64.1 billion. The average entry price for the entire portfolio is $75,651 per bitcoin.
The financing for this transaction was carried out through the company's traditional instrument — the placement of MSTR shares. During the reporting week, Strategy issued and sold 2,714,839 of its securities, raising $335.5 million. A portion of these funds was directed toward replenishing cryptocurrency reserves.
Analytical commentary: This tactic — buying bitcoin through share placements — demonstrates a confident adherence to a long-term strategy despite market volatility. However, it is worth noting that the average price of the current portfolio ($75,651) significantly exceeds the price of the latest purchase ($67,068), indicating aggressive averaging. This is a signal that the company's management expects further growth in bitcoin's value and is ready to increase positions during local downturns, leveraging favorable conditions to raise capital.
