BitMine increases ETH reserves: $92 million purchase and strategy for 2026

Ethereum ETH Efir 2025

A major player in the digital asset market, BitMine Immersion Technologies, continues its aggressive accumulation of Ethereum. Over the past seven days, the firm has acquired 52,203 ETH, equivalent to approximately $92 million at current market rates. This transaction is part of a consistent strategy to increase its stake in the ecosystem of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

As a result of the latest purchase, BitMine's total reserves have reached an impressive 5.67 million ETH. At current market value, this package is estimated at nearly $10 billion, representing 4.7% of the total circulating supply of Ethereum. This volume of assets places the company alongside the largest institutional holders of the cryptocurrency.

Notably, the volume of the latest transaction was smaller than in the previous two weeks. However, this does not indicate a decline in the company's appetite. BitMine Chairman of the Board Tom Lee emphasized that the pace of asset accumulation will remain stable throughout 2026. This statement points to long-term confidence in Ethereum's growth and its role in the global financial system.

Analytical Commentary

BitMine's current strategy demonstrates a classic approach by institutional investors to accumulate assets with high liquidity and growth potential. Controlling nearly 5% of the circulating ETH supply is not just a speculative move but a serious bid for influence within the protocol. In my experience, such concentrations of assets often precede significant market movements, especially amid growing interest in staking and layer-2 solutions. I recommend market participants closely monitor the actions of such giants—they often set the trend for the coming quarters.
