BitMine expands its positions: buying ETH for $92 million and a strategy for 2026

Over the past week, BitMine Immersion Technologies executed a massive transaction, acquiring 52,203 ETH worth approximately $92 million. This acquisition is part of a consistent strategy to accumulate the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

As a result of this purchase, the company's reserves have reached 5.67 million ETH, equivalent to nearly $10 billion at current market prices. This volume already accounts for 4.7% of the total circulating supply of Ethereum — an impressive figure that underscores institutional interest in the asset and the concentration of large holders.

Notably, the latest deal was smaller in volume compared to the purchases of the previous two weeks. This may indicate an adjustment in the pace of accumulation, but not a change in strategy. Company Chairman Tom Li confirmed that BitMine intends to maintain a steady pace of Ethereum accumulation in 2026, pointing to long-term bullish expectations from management.

From a market dynamics perspective, such actions by a major player create additional pressure on ETH supply, limiting liquidity on exchanges. Combined with expectations of network upgrades and the growth of decentralized finance, this could act as a catalyst for further price increases.

Analytical conclusion: BitMine's purchases demonstrate institutional investors' confidence in Ethereum as a long-term asset. If the accumulation pace continues, we may see a further reduction in available supply, which traditionally supports an upward trend. However, it is worth considering that such large positions also carry risks — any change in strategy could trigger volatility.
