AI analyst for pennies: 10 prompts for Claude that will replace expensive market experts
The analytics market is undergoing a tectonic shift. You no longer need to pay five-figure sums for reports from top consulting firms. In my latest research, I discovered a set of 10 prompts that allow you to use Claude for fundamental analysis of companies and cryptocurrencies at the level of a leading Wall Street analyst.
The first prompt assigns Claude the role of a senior analyst preparing a comprehensive research report—from business model and revenue sources to industry trends, competitors, financial results, and valuation. Importantly, it requires relying only on fresh public sources, clearly separating facts from assumptions.
The second prompt focuses on dissecting the company's latest earnings call: five key takeaways, changes in revenue and margins, management guidance, management tone, surprises, and a table of key metrics with explanations.
The third prompt turns Claude into a skeptical analyst looking for "red flags": warning signals in revenue quality, margins, cash flow, debt, equity dilution, and insider actions. Each issue is assigned a severity rating, and a final overall risk score from 1 to 10 is given.
The fourth and fifth prompts assess competitive advantages and fair value. One analyzes the company's "moat" (brand, network effects, intellectual property) and compares it with competitors. The second compares multiples (P/E, EV/Revenue, EV/EBITDA) and determines whether the company is overvalued or not.
The second set of five prompts goes even deeper. The sixth helps build assumptions for a DCF model across three scenarios: bear, base, and bull. The seventh creates a catalyst calendar for 3, 6, and 12 months, specifying timelines, impact, and confidence levels. The eighth evaluates the management team: the CEO's track record, forecast accuracy, transparency, and capital allocation.
The ninth prompt is a true "gem." It simulates an investment committee debate: Claude creates a bull analyst and a bear analyst, and then a neutral judge explains whose position is stronger. The tenth prompt turns the AI into a patient teacher who explains the company in simple terms and creates a checklist for a beginner.
My expert opinion: This collection is not just a set of queries but a full-fledged framework for investment due diligence. However, as I always emphasize, final data verification and decision-making remain with the human. AI is a powerful tool, but not a replacement for critical thinking and market experience.
