Standard Chartered forecasts growth in Aave deposits amid influx of tokenized assets

The influx of tokenized assets into the DeFi ecosystem could significantly increase the volume of deposits on the Aave platform. This, in turn, would help the protocol regain its leading position in the on-chain lending space. This conclusion is contained in an analytical report prepared by Standard Chartered experts.

According to lead analyst Geoff Kendrick, tokenized assets will be increasingly used as collateral and a source of liquidity. This trend directly stimulates the growth of Aave's deposit base, as market participants seek to place such assets in liquidity pools to generate income.

The bank also expects the protocol to recover from recent market pressure and the aftermath of the KelpDAO incident. These factors temporarily weakened activity on the platform, but Aave's fundamental metrics remain strong. The growth of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and its integration into DeFi provide Aave with a unique opportunity not only to regain lost ground but also to significantly expand its market share.

From a fundamental analysis perspective, the current situation resembles a classic recovery cycle after overheating. If Standard Chartered's forecast proves correct, Aave could become one of the main beneficiaries of the next wave of institutional DeFi adoption. However, investors should consider that the realization of this scenario directly depends on the speed of tokenized asset adoption and the overall macroeconomic environment.
