Anthropic launches Claude Tag: AI agent becomes a full-fledged team member in Slack

The corporate AI solutions market is receiving a powerful boost. Anthropic has introduced the Claude Tag tool — a specialized agent for team collaboration in Slack. Unlike regular chatbots, this tool integrates into work channels as a full-fledged project participant, capable of performing complex multi-step tasks without constant human oversight.
How It Works
To assign a task, simply mention the model via @Claude. The neural network independently breaks down the assignment into stages, connects to databases, analyzes software code, and uses third-party applications — all of this happens in the background. The key advantage is the multi-user mode: all channel members can see the agent's actions and pick up a dialogue started by a colleague.
Intelligent Autonomy
Claude Tag has several important features. First, context accumulation: the neural network remembers discussion details and does not require repeated explanations. Second, proactivity — when background mode is enabled, the AI independently reports important updates or reminds about unresolved tasks. Third, autonomy: the model can plan and execute long-term projects over several days, taking assistants to a fundamentally new level.
Practical Results
Within Anthropic itself, Claude Tag already creates 65% of software code. The tool is also actively used for analyzing metrics and processing support tickets. Administrators can restrict the neural network's access to confidential data and set limits on token usage, which is important for complying with corporate security policies.
Currently, the service is available in beta testing mode for users on the Claude Enterprise and Team plans. Claude Tag runs on the Opus 4.8 model and completely replaces the standard Claude app for Slack.
My analysis: This move by Anthropic is a logical continuation of the trend toward agentic AI systems. If earlier neural networks acted as passive consultants, Claude Tag turns them into active executors. Integration into Slack is a strategically sound decision, as this platform has already become the de facto standard for corporate communications. Particularly impressive is the 65% of code created within the company: this is a serious claim for transforming workflows in the tech sector.
