Anthropic launches Claude Tag AI agent for Slack: a new level of teamwork

The Anthropic team has introduced Claude Tag — an innovative tool that turns the neural network into a full-fledged participant in Slack work channels. Now, to delegate a task, it's enough to mention the model via @Claude. The AI independently breaks down the assignment into stages, uses connected databases, code, and third-party applications, and then executes everything in the background.
The key features of the new tool are impressive. First, it's a multi-user mode: all channel members see Claude's actions and can pick up a dialogue started by a colleague. Second, the neural network accumulates the context of discussions, saving the team from repeated explanations. Third, proactivity: with background mode enabled, the AI itself reports important updates or reminds about unresolved tasks. And finally, autonomy: the model can plan and execute long-term projects over several days without constant supervision.
Inside Anthropic itself, Claude Tag already creates 65% of software code. Additionally, the tool is actively used for analyzing metrics and processing support tickets. Administrators can flexibly configure access to confidential data and set limits on token usage.
The service is available in beta testing mode for users of the Claude Enterprise and Team plans. It runs on the Opus 4.8 model and replaces the standard Claude app for Slack.
In my opinion, this is a significant step forward in automating business processes. The AI's ability to work in a team, accumulate context, and independently execute complex projects opens new horizons for increasing productivity. However, it is worth carefully monitoring data security and control over the agent's actions, especially in a corporate environment.
