Thailand has issued a wanted notice for a Chinese businessman for illegal mining and electricity theft amounting to $28 million.

Thai law enforcement authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Chinese citizen Wang Yicheng, who is suspected of organizing a large-scale illegal crypto mining scheme. Thailand's Department of Special Investigations has classified this case as one of the largest in the field of energy crimes related to digital assets.

According to the investigation, a network of mining farms controlled by Wang Yicheng illegally consumed electricity worth approximately $28 million. This was made possible by direct connections to power grids without payment. Moreover, the cryptocurrencies obtained through mining are believed to have been used to launder proceeds from online fraud and illegal gambling.

Charges and Suspect's Flight

In November of this year, Wang Yicheng was officially charged with electricity theft and violations of the Computer Crime Act. Investigators believe the businessman has already left Thailand, significantly complicating his arrest. Nevertheless, the arrest warrant has been forwarded to Interpol for an international manhunt.
