Thai authorities have issued a wanted notice for a Chinese businessman for operating an illegal crypto mining farm.
Thailand's Department of Special Investigation has officially initiated an international manhunt for Chinese citizen Wang Yicheng. An arrest warrant has been issued for the entrepreneur in connection with organizing a large-scale illegal cryptocurrency mining network.
According to the investigation, the criminal group led by Wang Yicheng had been stealing electricity worth approximately $28 million over an extended period. The obtained resources were used to power underground mining operations. Additionally, it was established that this infrastructure was used to launder proceeds from fraudulent schemes and illegal online casinos.
In November of this year, Wang Yicheng was charged with two serious offenses: theft of state property and violation of computer crime laws. Investigative measures have shown that the suspect has likely already left Thailand, significantly complicating his arrest.
