Dutch company Qblox, specializing in quantum processor control systems, has officially announced a strategic partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). This collaboration aims for deep integration of Qblox hardware with HPE's high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence infrastructures.

This is not just another equipment procurement deal. It involves creating full-fledged test benches designed for algorithm development, software compatibility verification, and system benchmarking. The primary goal is to build functional hybrid systems where classical computing and quantum processors operate in a unified loop, complementing each other.

What lies behind this move?

In my view, this is a very telling trend. The market is tired of abstract promises of "quantum supremacy." The focus is now shifting toward practical engineering: how to make a quantum chip work alongside a conventional server without losing performance at the technology interface. Qblox, as a developer of the key component—the qubit control system—becomes an ideal partner for HPE, which controls the classical computing ecosystem.

Collaborative work on benchmarking is especially important. Without unified testing standards, it is impossible to objectively assess where a hybrid system truly delivers acceleration and where it remains merely an expensive toy. This project could lay the groundwork for future industrial standards.

My conclusion: We are witnessing a transition from the era of experimentation to the era of integration. Quantum computing is ceasing to be a "black box" and is beginning to embed itself into existing IT architecture.
