Qblox and HPE join forces to create hybrid computing systems

Dutch company Qblox, specializing in the development of control systems for quantum processors, has announced a strategic partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. This collaboration aims to integrate Qblox hardware with HPE's high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructures.

The joint work will focus on creating testbeds for developing and optimizing algorithms, ensuring software compatibility, and conducting system benchmarking of hybrid classical-quantum systems. The goal is to create efficient and scalable solutions that combine the computing power of traditional supercomputers with the potential of quantum processors.

Hybrid computing is a key trend in the development of quantum technologies. While quantum computers cannot yet fully replace classical ones, their integration with HPC systems makes it possible to solve problems that are inaccessible to either approach individually. This is especially relevant for simulating complex molecular structures, optimizing supply chains, and financial modeling.

The collaboration between Qblox and HPE could significantly accelerate the commercialization of quantum computing. Combining Qblox's expertise in managing quantum qubits with HPE's experience in building large-scale computing clusters creates a solid foundation for the emergence of the first truly hybrid solutions ready for industrial use.

My expert opinion: This step confirms that hybrid architecture is the most pragmatic path for integrating quantum technologies into business processes. In the next 2-3 years, we will see an increase in such partnerships, as classical and quantum systems will no longer exist in isolation, evolving into a unified computing ecosystem.
