Post-quantum race: Singapore startup pQCee raises $3.9 million to defend against future threats

Singapore-based startup pQCee has successfully closed a seed funding round of $3.9 million. The round was led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment — two players who clearly see where the cybersecurity industry is heading. The project is developing so-called "crypto-agile" solutions: software that allows encryption algorithms to be changed "on the fly" — via a cloud patch, without the need to replace physical hardware.
This is a fundamentally important approach in an era when quantum computing is no longer science fiction. The main threat that pQCee neutralizes is "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks. Attackers are already stockpiling encrypted data today, waiting for sufficiently powerful quantum computers capable of breaking current cryptographic standards. pQCee's solutions render this tactic pointless by allowing dynamic security updates without downtime or hardware costs.
The funds raised will go toward expanding the development team and aggressively entering key markets: the US, Europe, and the Middle East. It is worth noting that, including previous investments, pQCee's total funding has reached $6.7 million. This is a solid figure for a seed stage, indicating strong investor confidence in the technology.
