Singapore startup pQCee raised $3.9 million to protect against quantum threats: a new era of crypto-adaptability

Singapore-based startup pQCee has successfully completed a seed funding round of $3.9 million. The round was led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment — two major players known for their strategic focus on deep tech. This capital raise confirms the growing demand for solutions capable of countering future quantum threats.
pQCee develops so-called "crypto-agile" software platforms. The key innovation is that their software allows dynamic changes to encryption algorithms via cloud patches, without requiring physical hardware replacement. This represents a fundamental shift from hard-coded cryptosystems to flexible, adaptive solutions.
The product's main focus is protection against "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks. This threat is already real today: attackers accumulate encrypted data in the hope that with the advent of powerful quantum computers, they will be able to crack it. pQCee offers a mechanism that renders this scenario ineffective by updating cryptographic protection in real time.
The funds raised will be used to expand the development team and scale the business into key markets — the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Taking into account previous investments, the total funding raised by the project has reached $6.7 million.
