XRP has entered a phase of equilibrium: the market has lost its footing
The XRP market has entered a phase of neutral structure, where neither buyers nor sellers hold a clear advantage. Pressure from both sides has eased, and the asset is moving sideways without showing a clear direction.
Key liquidation data from the Binance platform indicates that the imbalance previously characteristic of aggressive sell-offs or short squeezes has completely disappeared. The volume of long position liquidations is approximately 103,000 XRP, while short positions amount to around 122,000 XRP. The gap between these figures is minimal, signaling an absence of bias in either direction.
When long liquidations sharply exceed shorts, it is a classic sign of forced buying by bulls and the onset of a bearish trend. The opposite situation—an excess of short position liquidations—indicates a short squeeze and buyer dominance. Currently, we observe neither.
A similar picture emerges in leverage metrics. Liquidation levels are distributed almost evenly between long and short positions. The funding rate on Binance is close to zero, confirming that traders have not accumulated excessive volume on either side.
Why a sharp move is unlikely
Powerful rallies typically occur where too many short positions have accumulated, which are forcibly closed as the price rises. Similarly, crashes happen in zones of excessive long positions. Currently, neither exists in the XRP market.
Without a strong positional imbalance, there is simply no one to trigger mass liquidations. The conclusion is straightforward: the XRP derivatives market is balanced but stagnant. Investors have yet to decide on a direction, and no one has taken the upper hand.
My expert opinion: The current consolidation is not a sign of weakness but rather a phase of accumulation. The market is waiting for a catalyst. As soon as a trigger appears—whether it be regulatory news or a large volume of purchases—we will see a sharp breakout from this range. For now, only patience and monitoring of support and resistance levels are needed.
