The memecoin YODA has surged by 14,000%: what does Elon Musk have to do with it, and is it worth getting in?
The memecoin YODA, launched on the Robinhood Chain blockchain, has demonstrated explosive growth, surging over 14,000% in a day to $0.00027. Within just a few hours of creating the liquidity pool, this token became one of the most discussed assets on the network, and for good reason.
The key catalyst for the rally was a wave of posts on X (Twitter) claiming that the token had been repeatedly mentioned by Elon Musk. However, upon detailed analysis, it turns out that all references lead to a tweet from the billionaire dated December 13, 2019, where he posted an image of a "Star Wars" character — Master Yoda. This post had nothing to do with cryptocurrency. Nevertheless, the mention in the context of "Musk's interest in the coin" is being actively promoted, including by the Robinhood dailys account with an audience of over 100,000 followers.
Liquidity and Distribution: Warning Signs
The YODA/WETH pool on Uniswap was created on July 28. The token's nominal market capitalization after the pump is approximately $278,000, while the pool's liquidity is only $48,000, half of which is in WETH. The daily turnover of $545,000 across 12,065 trades exceeds the total liquidity by 11 times. This is a classic sign of extremely low market depth, where even a few large sellers can crash the price to zero.
Data from DEX Screener shows that the token is held by about 1,400 addresses. Only 9% of the supply is in the pool, and the top 20 wallets (excluding the pool) control 17% of the supply. The trading structure raises questions: purchases amounted to $283,000, sales to $261,000, but out of 3,509 traders in a day, 3,274 were selling. This means that nearly everyone who entered the asset has already exited, locking in profits.
My Expertise: This is a classic "pump-and-dump" scheme using a high-profile name to attract retail investors. The connection to Elon Musk is nothing more than a marketing ploy based on an old tweet. Given the current liquidity and holder structure, entering YODA involves extreme risk. I recommend refraining from investing in this asset — the likelihood of a price collapse is extremely high.
