Standard Chartered: LINK is capable of demonstrating 25-fold growth by 2030

RWA tokenization

In my analytical review, I draw attention to a fresh forecast from Standard Chartered experts, who have revised their expectations for Chainlink (LINK) significantly upward. The target level is now set at $200 by the end of 2030. This implies potential growth of roughly 25 times relative to current values, which hover around $8 per coin.

The key driver of such an optimistic assessment is Chainlink's positioning as critically important infrastructure for the tokenized asset (RWA) market. The bank believes the protocol is a unique end-to-end platform capable of covering the entire lifecycle of digital assets, integrating both the DeFi segment and traditional finance.

Geoff Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, rightly notes that as real-world assets are moved on-chain, the market will require reliable external oracles, secure cross-chain bridges, and tools for meeting compliance requirements. These are precisely the areas that Chainlink covers.

Financial metrics also look encouraging: network fee income is expected to grow 25-fold by the specified date. Among users of Chainlink services are giants such as SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear, JPMorgan, Mastercard, UBS, Fidelity, and S&P Global, confirming a high level of trust from institutional players.

However, I cannot ignore the risks that the analysts themselves highlight. First, the pace of institutional tokenization could be slower than expected. Second, competition from specialized providers in individual niches is intensifying. Third, any technical failures could undermine trust in the platform, which is critical for infrastructure projects.

Notably, the RWA sector is already showing explosive growth: volume on credit platforms and DEXs reached $7.4 billion in the second quarter, three times higher than last year's figures ($2.3 billion). This confirms that the fundamental trend toward tokenization is gaining momentum, and Chainlink has every chance to become its main beneficiary.

My expert opinion: The $200 forecast looks ambitious but not fantastical, given Chainlink's monopoly position in the cross-chain interaction space. Nevertheless, investors should factor significant volatility and time horizons into their models, as 25-fold growth over six years requires not only technological superiority but also an impeccable reputation in the eyes of institutional giants.
