This is not just a hypothesis—it is an inevitable scenario confirmed both by statements from key market players and by objective statistics.
This week, I noted a comment from Elon Musk, who publicly supported the forecast by Cloudflare's CFO Thomas Seifert. The latter, in turn, made a bold statement: if current growth rates persist, then within five years the volume of non-human traffic could exceed user traffic by 1,000 times. Musk, commenting on this assessment, emphasized that this is not a matter of probability but of inevitability. People, in his words, risk becoming a "statistical margin of error" in the overall picture of internet activity.
Reality Outpaces Forecasts
Notably, even the boldest expectations have proven conservative. Previously, Cloudflare assumed that machine traffic would only surpass user traffic by 2027. However, the facts tell a different story: this milestone was already crossed in May 2026. This is a clear indicator of how rapidly the ecosystem of autonomous agents is evolving.
The implications of this trend extend far beyond web analytics. E-commerce is on the verge of radical transformation. According to ARK Invest forecasts, by 2030 AI agents will account for about 25% of all digital spending—compared to roughly 2% in 2025. In absolute terms, this means processing transactions worth up to $8 trillion in online commerce by the end of the decade. This creates enormous opportunities for cryptocurrency payment solutions, which could become the primary settlement tool for machine wallets.
