Standard Chartered sees LINK potential at $200: a bet on tokenization of real-world assets

RWA tokenization

My market analysis indicates that Chainlink (LINK) is in the spotlight of major institutional players. The latest forecast I reviewed suggests the token could rise to $200 by the end of 2030. This implies roughly a 25-fold increase from current levels around $8, and such optimism is based not on speculation but on the protocol's fundamental role in the infrastructure of tokenized assets.

The key thesis here is positioning Chainlink as the "only end-to-end platform" capable of covering the entire lifecycle of tokenized assets. This is not just about DeFi, but also about traditional finance. As real-world assets (RWA) transition to an on-chain format, the market requires reliable oracles for external data, secure bridges between networks, and compliance tools. These are precisely the niches that LINK fills.

By the end of the decade, network fee generation is expected to grow approximately 25-fold. Among the users of Chainlink's services are giants such as SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear, JPMorgan, Mastercard, UBS, Fidelity, and S&P Global. This is not just a list of names—it is an indicator that the protocol is already embedded in the ecosystem of the largest financial institutions.

However, I would not ignore the risks. First, the pace of institutional tokenization could be slower than expected. Second, competition from specialized providers in individual segments could erode market share. Third, technical or configuration failures could undermine trust in the platform, which is critical for an infrastructure player.

It is important to note that the RWA market is already showing explosive growth: volume on credit platforms and decentralized exchanges reached $7.4 billion in the second quarter, compared to $2.3 billion a year earlier. These figures confirm the trend that Chainlink is betting on.

My expert opinion: The forecast looks ambitious but not fantastical. LINK is not a meme token but a utility asset with real-world application. However, investors should remember that a 25-fold increase requires not only the successful implementation of the technological roadmap but also macroeconomic stability. I would view such targets as a long-term benchmark rather than a short-term goal.
