Analysts at Standard Chartered forecast LINK to rise to $200: a bet on the tokenization of real-world assets

RWA tokenization

My market analysis indicates that Chainlink (LINK) is at the epicenter of a structural shift in the crypto industry — the transition to real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. In this context, I have revised my long-term assessment of LINK's potential, raising the target level to $200 by the end of 2030. This implies roughly a 25-fold increase from current levels of around $8 per token.

The key thesis of my model is Chainlink's unique position as critical infrastructure for tokenized assets. The protocol is the only end-to-end platform capable of covering the full lifecycle of such instruments: from reliable external data to secure cross-chain interoperability and compliance tools. As assets move into on-chain format, the market will need exactly this kind of comprehensive architecture, not fragmented solutions.

Fundamental drivers and client base

I expect Chainlink's fee generation to grow approximately 25-fold by the end of the decade. This is not a speculative estimate, but a consequence of an expanding client base. Among the users of the network's services are global institutions: SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear, JPMorgan, Mastercard, UBS, Fidelity, and S&P Global. Their engagement confirms that Chainlink is becoming the de facto standard for institutional tokenization.

The current momentum in the RWA segment only strengthens my confidence. From April to June, the volume of tokenized assets on credit platforms and decentralized exchanges reached $7.4 billion, compared to $2.3 billion a year earlier. This is more than a threefold increase, demonstrating accelerating adoption.

Risks I am considering

However, the forecast is not without vulnerabilities. I identify three key risks. First, the pace of institutional tokenization could be slower than expected. Second, competition from specialized providers in individual segments could erode market share. Third, technical or configuration failures could undermine trust in the platform, which is critical for an infrastructure project.

My comment: The forecast is ambitious, but it reflects a real trend — the shift from speculative DeFi projects to institutional infrastructure. However, investors should remember that a 25-fold growth requires not only technological superiority, but also an impeccable reputation in the eyes of traditional financial giants. Any security lapse could nullify these expectations.
