Between the 3rd and 9th, the firm sold 1,690 BTC, directing all proceeds toward buying back its own class STRC preferred shares. This step demonstrates flexibility in capital management even amid high volatility in the digital asset market.

According to my analysis of the operating report, proceeds from the sale of the leading cryptocurrency amounted to $108.6 million, with an average selling price recorded at $64,262 per coin. It is important to note that this price turned out to be lower than current market values, indicating a deliberate choice of liquidity at the expense of potential profit. In parallel, Strategy issued and sold 6.59 million common MSTR shares, raising $653.1 million. Of this amount, $650 million was directed toward increasing the company's dollar reserve, which now stands at an impressive $4.65 billion.

Balance of power and long-term strategy

As of August 9, Strategy's total portfolio amounts to 840,447 BTC, acquired for $63.36 billion. Thus, despite partially reducing its position, the company retains a dominant standing among institutional bitcoin investors. This operation looks like a classic capital structure arbitrage: using an expensive asset (BTC) to support its own financial instruments, which strengthens shareholder confidence and reduces debt burden.

From my professional perspective, this move underscores the maturity of corporate strategy in the crypto industry. Instead of panic selling during corrections, Strategy uses moments of relative stability to optimize its balance sheet. However, investors should closely monitor the dynamics: if the bitcoin price continues to decline, the effectiveness of such operations will be called into question, as the company is essentially converting a volatile asset into more predictable dollar reserves.
