Claude Code now sees the market: 17,000+ assets and reporting in one window

The days when full-fledged financial analysis required a Bloomberg terminal with a six-figure subscription fee are over. Today, I am watching AI tools like Claude Code rapidly break into this niche, and the latest example is its connection to live market data for over 17,000 stocks and cryptocurrencies. This is not just another update, but a paradigm shift in access to information.

One command — and the entire market is at your fingertips

The essence is that an external financial data service is connected to Claude Code via the MCP (Model Context Protocol). The entire setup, as my analysis of public experiments has shown, takes about 60 seconds and consists of three simple steps: server registration, OAuth authorization, and starting to work with natural language queries.

Instead of complex API requests or hours of manual searching across disparate sources, it is now enough to ask: "What is Apple's current P/E?", "Show Tesla's quarterly reports for the last four periods," or "How has the price of bitcoin changed over the year?". Claude Code accesses the data directly, providing a structured response. This is a direct blow to the monopoly of expensive terminals, since analysts pay about $24,000 a year for Bloomberg.

Who benefits from this combination

Obviously, quants, analysts, and portfolio managers who are the first to master this tool will come out ahead. The advantage here accumulates daily — it is a research edge that grows with every use. But the key value lies not in individual steps, but in their synergy: combining the powerful reasoning of AI with a stream of up-to-date data in a single interface.

It is also worth noting that this works on an open standard, and Claude Code itself acts as a shell for data access. This makes the technology accessible and scalable, which, in my view, will inevitably lead to the democratization of professional financial analysis.

The scale of agents: thousands of tasks overnight

In the context of this news, it is important to mention the progress in autonomy. For example, one of the creators of Claude Code uses a smartphone as the primary interface, maintaining between five and ten active sessions at once. Each of them is capable of spawning hundreds or even thousands of auxiliary agents to handle large-scale tasks overnight. This is only possible under four critical conditions: full task launch from a smartphone, isolated parallel execution, automatic verification of results without human involvement, and strict limits on time and costs.

My conclusion: we are on the threshold where AI is becoming not just an advisor, but a full-fledged participant in the trading process. Tools like Claude Code with access to market data are the first step toward analytical work ceasing to be a privilege of the few with expensive subscriptions. The only question is who will adapt to this new reality faster.
