Trump Media posts $238 million loss and revises cryptocurrency strategy

Trump Трамп криптовалюты 2025

Trump Media Corporation ended the second quarter with a net loss of $238 million, prompting management to announce a review of its digital reserve management strategy. The main focus will shift toward core media assets — Truth Social, Truth+, and Truth.Fi platforms — while the cryptocurrency direction awaits structural reorganization.

The key factor behind the financial pressure was unrealized losses on digital assets and related securities, reaching $190.4 million. This reflects market volatility that significantly impacted the company's balance sheet during the reporting period. Nevertheless, despite the negative trend, the firm continued to increase its bitcoin positions.

According to my data, as of June 30, Trump Media held 9,477.16 BTC under management, and by July 31, the reserve volume had grown to 12,062 BTC. This move demonstrates long-term faith in digital gold, even when short-term price conditions are not in investors' favor.

Please note: increasing bitcoin holdings amid losses is not merely compensation for losses, but a signal that the company views BTC as a strategic asset rather than a speculative instrument. However, the treasury policy review may mean that future purchases will be more cautious and tied to market conditions.

From my perspective, the situation is paradoxical: a media holding affiliated with a political figure is trying to balance between a hype-driven crypto image and real financial stability. The $238 million loss is a serious wake-up call, and if the company does not optimize asset management, further BTC accumulation could become toxic for shareholders. That said, current purchases show that management believes in market recovery, making Trump Media's story one of the most curious cases of 2025.
