Trump Media posts $238 million loss and revises crypto strategy: bitcoin reserves continue to grow

Trump Трамп криптовалюты 2025

Trump Media's financial results for the second quarter came under pressure: the company recorded a net loss of $238 million. The main factor was unrealized losses on digital assets and related securities, which reached $190.4 million. This is a significant figure reflecting the volatility of the crypto market and the company's aggressive stance in this segment.

Despite the losses, management is not only maintaining its presence in digital assets but also expanding it. At the end of June, the firm held 9,477.16 BTC under management, and by July 31, this figure had grown to 12,062 BTC. This trend indicates that the company views current price levels as an attractive entry point for long-term accumulation.

Shift in Priorities: Focus on Media Assets

Management has announced a revision of its digital treasury strategy. The main emphasis will shift toward developing core media products — Truth Social, Truth+, and Truth.Fi. This is a logical step: diversifying revenue through traditional assets could reduce dependence on high-risk crypto instruments, especially amid regulatory uncertainty.

However, it is important to emphasize: the decision does not mean abandoning bitcoin. Rather, we are witnessing an optimization of the balance between the speculative component and operational activities. For a company whose core business is tied to media and communications, such a move looks rational — it allows stabilizing the financial base while maintaining exposure to the growth of digital assets.

My analysis: Increasing BTC reserves amid losses is a signal of long-term confidence in the asset, but it also carries risks. If the market continues its correction, unrealized losses could again pressure third-quarter results. Nevertheless, for investors tracking institutional bitcoin adoption, Trump Media's actions are yet another confirmation of the trend toward accumulation by major players.
