However, in practice, programmers are transformed from creators into verifiers: they don't write code, but check generated code, working at a pace set by AI performance. The creative component is leveled out, giving way to endless correction of others' mistakes.
Human-in-the-loop. The most insidious scenario is in law, medicine, and finance. AI generates a draft decision, and the expert is obliged to review and approve it at a "superhuman speed." At the same time, all responsibility for the algorithm's errors falls on the human. They absorb the system's "friction," but are deprived of the right to creativity and autonomy.
The Economics of Absurdity: Why It's Profitable
The employer's logic is simple: replace ten employees with three armed with AI, and shift the entire workload plus oversight functions onto them. Savings arise not from efficiency, but from redistributing the burden and risks. It's telling that those who implement AI never become "reverse centaurs" themselves. For them, it's a tool of management, not subordination.
By my estimates, the $1.4 trillion AI valuation bubble, which I've written about before, will inevitably correct. The seven largest companies control more than a third of the stock market, but their business models rest on mutual expectations.
