The market for tokenized stocks is exploding: the number of holders has grown by 124% in a month

RWA tokenization

The real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector is experiencing an unprecedented surge in activity. Over the past 30 days, the number of unique addresses holding tokenized stocks has jumped by 124%, reaching 1.31 million. This is not just a statistical anomaly—it is a signal of a fundamental shift in how retail and institutional investors interact with traditional financial instruments.

The volume of monthly transfers in this segment has grown by nearly 180%, amounting to an impressive $23.13 billion. At the same time, the number of active addresses conducting transactions has increased by 34.6%, to 572,000. This dynamic indicates that the market is not merely expanding with new participants but is also demonstrating growing liquidity and depth.

The total distributed value of digitized securities (that is, the combined market capitalization of issued tokens) has risen by 5.9%, reaching $2.38 billion. Interestingly, the growth in the number of holders significantly outpaces the growth in market capitalization, suggesting a fragmentation of positions and the arrival of smaller investors who were previously cut off from direct access to such assets due to geographic or minimum threshold restrictions.

From my perspective, we are witnessing a classic network effect: the more liquidity and participants there are, the more attractive tokenized stocks become to issuers. However, caution should be maintained—such rapid growth is often accompanied by volatility and regulatory risks. In the coming quarters, the key test will be the infrastructure's ability to handle the load and regulators' readiness to legalize this new asset class.
